JUDGES' PENSIONS.
A rcuirn has been furnished by the i>f\v South Wales Department of Justice giving some detailed information regarding the pensions being paid by the .State to retired Judges. The return states that there arc no retired District Court Judges on pension. Four retired Judges «f the Supreme Court are receiving pensions of £1820 per annum each, and the total amounts paid up to 31fit October last, with particulars concerning length of service and date of retirement, m each case, are as follows: Mr Justice Foster, six years ten months' service, retired on* December 17, 1894, annual pension, £1820 ■ total amount paid to October 31, 1908, £25,245 3s 3d. Mr Justice Stephen, sixteen years nine months' service; date of retirement, February 26, 1904; annual pension, £1820; total amount received to October 31, 1908, £8,509 0& Gd. Mr Justice Walker, eight years four months 'service; date of retiremen!:, December 24, 1906; annual pension. £1820; total amount paid to October 31, 1908, £3370 18s 3d.
