THE MANAWATU RAILWAY.
WELLINGTON, February 22. - The sale of the Manawatu railway to tho Government was confirmed_at, a meeting of the shareholders to-day. An Intimation was given by the chairman that the Government would pay ovei the purchase money on Saturday next, and the directors would probably make a distribution in a month s time.
