TYPOGRAPHICAL AWARD.
WELLINGTON, February _ 19. ] Mr Justice Sim has given his interpretation of the typographical award respecting linotype work m Wellington city offices, m which he makes it clear that a pieceworker is entitled to be paid for work done on holidays simply at the extra rate prescribed m the award to meet occasions, and not to receive, m addition, the extra day's pay allowed to weekly wage operators ("those engaged for a definite term" are the words of the interpretations) on certain specified holidays. This means that pieceworkers who worked on Labour Day, and received 4Jcl per 1000 ens, received all they were entitled to under the award.
