CHRISTCHUItCH, February 18. Tlie New Zealand Cricket Council decided to-night—"That the secretary be requested to communicate direct with the South African cricket authorities, and ascertain the terms upon which the team which is to visit Australia would extend their tour to> New Zealand." it was further decided that the management committee should consider the rules governing the Plunket shield matches, with a view to alterations, if advisable, the committee to acquaint the Associations with the proposed alterations. It was resolved —"That the management committee consider the best method of dealing with the net proceeds of the Plunket 6hield matches." The mover suggested that the gate money, after expenses had been deducted, be divided, one-third each to the competing Associations, and onethird to the Council, _ but this was objected to, and the opinion was expressed that 5 per cent, of the proceeds after deducting expenses would be sufficient for the Council.
