WATERTON PUBLIC LIBRARY.

The annual meeting of the Waterton Public Library was held on Friday evening, when there was a good attendance of subscribers. Mr Watson, who presided, stated that the library had had a successful year; subscribers showed an increase of three on the preceding year, whije the income from all sources was satisfactory. Fiftyfive new books had been added to the library, which now numbered 1085 volumes. The treasurer reported a gross income of £34 9s Id and an expenditure of £29 4s Bd, leaving a credit balance of £5 4s sd. The balancesheet was adopted, and the following members were elected a committee for the ensuing yar: Messrs W. Croy, Jno. McLauchlan, 11. Mngford, S. Crosson, I. Reid, Jno. P. Bleo. F. Soal, H. Donaldson and Jno. Watson. At a subsequent meeting of the new committee, the following officers were ap--pointed,: Chairman, Mr J. Watson; treasurer, Mr Jno. P. Blee; secretary, Mr Isaac Reid. An honorarium of £2 10s was passed to the librarian. Various accounts having been passed for payment, and business of a routine nature having been transacted, the meeting adjourned.—Own correspondent.
