THEFT OF £4,800.
I SEVEN YEARS' IMPRISONMENT. AUCKLAND, August 12. Alfred Michelly, who pleaded guilty to the theft of £4,Boo;from his employers, Wingate, Burnes and Company, came before Mr Justice Denniston this morning for sentence. The Judge said that accused had deliberately, for a series of years, taken advantage of his position to rob his employers on an enormous scale and to falsify the books with which_ he was entrusted. There were Ino mitigating circumstances, and accused would be sentenced to seven years' imprisonment.
