LIBEL ACTION SETTLED.
LONDON, July 29. The action for libel brought by Jo--oj.h Watson aud Sons, soap manufacturers, against the Daily News and allied papers, arising out of comments on the soap trust, has been settled privately. Mr Watson announces that the damages agreed upon exceed those recently paid to Messrs Lever Brothers by the Daily Mail and Evening News. The hitter papers have now withdrawn their aspersions and apologised.
