A DEVASTATING FIRE.

NEW YORK, July 29. A fire has devastated Coney Island, a popular New York resort.
The damage is estimated at a quarter of a, million sterling.
A sudden change iv the wind prevented destruction of two million pounds v.'orth of property. Two thousand people have been rendered homeless, and twenty-seven firemen sustained injuries.
