CONCERT AND SOCIAL AT LISMORE.
A concert and social in connection with the Lismore Methodist Church was held in the Lismore School on Wednesday, 24th inst. The night being fine, a large number of people were present, all the seating rcoommodation being taken. The Rev. C. H. Standage occupied the chair. The Mayfield Methodist choir, under the baton' of Mr James Dellow, rendered five anthems in a very efficient manner, and were highly appreciated. Messrs Dellow and McDowell and Mrs Sewell and Miss Whiting took the solos; a duet was given by Messrs Dellow and Jarmong; songs were given by Miss E. Williams —2; recitations by Mrs Frost and Mr H. Williams. The Gibbs Band rendered three selections in a very pleasing marner, and were well received. Miss Gibbs gave a violin solo, accompanied by Mr Gibbs. The accompanists for the evening were Misses Hight and B. Williams. Short speeches were given by Mr Dellow and the Rev. Mr Standage. At the close of the programme, Mr D McKenzie proposed a vote of thanks to' all who had helped to make the evening's entertainment a success. At the close of the concert, supper was handed round by the ladies of the church, and a most enjoyable evening was brought to a close .
