Presentation at Lismore.

One of the largest gatherings seen m this district took place m the Lismore school on Friday, Nov. 2nd, to bid farewell to Mrs Low and the members of her family. Mrs Low has leased her farm to Mr G. Mcßae, and intends to live m Ashburton. The Rev. W. Ham. of Mayfield, on behalf of the residents, spoke m eulogistic terms of Mrs Low's many good qualities as a neighbour and a friend, of the loss which her leaving the distriot meant to the Presbyterian Church, and of her success as a farmer. Mr Ham also presented Mrs Low with a silver kettle and stand, Misa Low with a silver mounted Daulton salad bowl, Miss M. G-. Low with a silver bread board, and Master Robert Low with a pair of ebony back brushes enclosed m case, all on behalf of the neighbours. Mrs Low thanked her friends for their valuable gifts, and said they would be treasured as remembrances of their many old friends. The gifts would always remind her and her family of the happy days they had speut m Lismore, and she hoped* they would still have " many a fjuid oupo* tea together, for the sake of Auld Lang Syne." Mrs Frost and Messrs E. Smith, J. Dellow, and F. Emerson spoke iv complimentary terms of Mrs Low and her family, and wished them happineS3 m their new home.
