Melbourne, Oct 18 The Federal Government has approved of the schemes suggested by the Sydney University for the establishment of a Military College for the training of officers. The Australian Eleven. Perth, Oet 18 Darling, Gregory, Howell, and Kelly have returned by the steamer China. Darling, interviewed, said that unfortunately they left the " ashes" behind, but otherwise the tour was most successful. There was no question that with even luck, though the Australians .would lose the rubber, they would have won two tests. But for Trumper's injury they should have won the first test, and rain spoiled their chances in the second. Most likely an English team will visit Australia next summer. Jackson is mentioned as probable captain.
