WILLOWBY ROAD RACE.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I should like to contradict a few statements about the Willowby road race. The individual who sent in the report seems to know very littl« about it. First, ho says the time was 27£ minutes, whereas it was 28 minutes by the timekeeper's watch. A half minute may mean a lot to the winner's banpicap in another race. He says R. Johnstone was awarded Oates, Lowry and Co.'s special priz>, which is altogether wrong. "R,. Grice was the man who rode the first Zealandia past the winning post, and 1 signed the paper in his Favour, and he is entitled to the priza.—l am, etc, H. Griffith, ■ Secretary Willowby Road Raoe. Willowby, October 14th.'
