MATCH AT TEMUKA.
A team composed mainly of Seniors players of the Hakatere Club assisted by some members of the Old Boy 3* Club journeyed to Temuka yesterday to play a match with the Teniuka Club. After a very even game, which was singularly free from breaches of the rules, Tetuuka, won by six points (two tiies scored by I), Horgau and J. Twomey) to nil, Twomey, T, Horgan atad Grant were especially coaspicuoua among the winners' backs and of a havd working lot of forwards Blythe, D. Horgan and Anderson played excellent games. Dtui3ey gaye a really brilliant exposition at five-eighths for the Aahburton team, and T. McDonald, although injured early in the game, played with soundness and good judgment/ at centre three'juarter. W. Fitzgerald, D. Brown, E. Orr, and P. Orr also played with distinction. The visitors were hospitably entertained after the match, and it is likely that a return game will be playsd in Ashburton before the season closes. Mr D. Rogers was referee.
