Personal.—Mr Tho?. Harrison, of Hackthome, who has represented the Mount Somers Eiding on the County Council for some time past, has tendered his resignation owing to his removal from the district. Property Sat.k.—Tlig New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative Association report having sold, in conjunction with the National Mortgage Company, Mi W. Houkton's farm at Flemingtou, containing 120 acres, to Mrs W. Read, of Watertim. Longbeach: District. —Ploughing operations are being pushed ahead in the Longbeach district. On the Longbeach estate oata have already bean sown for feeding off purposes in spring and to answer for early crops. Practically no threshing has been done on the estate, Mr Grigg wisely contending that with the condition in which the greater part of the crops were put in the stack, threshing for ut least another month or even more would not be prudent. A social was held last evening in the Orange Hall, a few friends taking the opportunity of saying good-bye to Mr A. Watson, who is leaving on a trip to America. Mr Cambridge, on behalf of the ladies of Bright Hour Entertainers, presented Mr Watson with a dressing case. Speeches were made by Mr Schwartz arid Mr Stock, junr., after which Mr Watson responded. Songs were sung by Mrs Smith, Miss Bnttray, Mr Schwartz, Miss Hewson, and Mr Brown, and a whistling solo was given by Mr A. Stock. Dancing was then indulged in, rmisie baing supplied by Miss Heseltine and Mr Hughes.
