Fat Cattle—lßs head were yarded, mainly heifers nnd cows of indifferent to inferior quality. Good beef met with fair demand, but secondary showed a drop of LOs a head, and ordinary and inferior cows went down £1 below last week's values. Good to prime steers made .£8 to £9 15s ; others £Q 7s 6d and upwards ; heifers £5 17* 6d to £7 123 6d ; cows £5 to £7 17s 6d, equal to for good to prime steers 20s to 2 Is, ordinary 18s to 19s 6d, cows 16s to 18a per 1001b. Fat Sheep—Old ewes predominated, with some lines of prime wethers. Bidding was irregular. Butchers competed well for wethers, but freezing lines suffered a slight decline. Ordinary and inferior lines were generally below previous rates. Prices weie : —Wefchers good to prime 19s 6d to 23s 9d ; ewes prime heavy 20a to 22s Id ; medium 17s 6d to 19s (id ; aged 13s 6d to 17s; merino wefchers 13s 'M to 17s 3d. Fat Lambs—Prices were weaker than last week, prime making 17s to 19.*; others 15s to 16s 9d. Store sheep were entered in large nutnbe/s and sold well. Ewes, 2 and 4 toofch, made 18s 9d to 19s ; 6 and 8-t')oth 183 to 18s 1 Id; saund-mouth 163 5d to 16s 10J ; broken 12a 9d to 16* 7d. Pigs —The demand was weaker, and prices for all classes were barely maintained. Good to prime baconei'3 made 383 to 525, equal to 3|d to 4jd per lb ; heavy weights 3d to 3Jd ; porkera 213 to 365, equal to 4£d to 4sd; stores (large) 23s to 28s j medium 16s to 20s ; small 63 6d to 12a.
