Egcj Laying Cohpetition.—An egg laying competition will commence at Blenheim on May 1. The entrance fee for each pen is £2 2s, and prize money amounting to £75 will be given. A Coming Picnic—The scholars attending the Lyttelton District High School and the Papanui Public School, together with their parents and friends, intend holding their annual picnic m the Ashburton Domain to-morrow, weather permitting. Over 800 excursionists are expected.
