Gillec was run out after adding 12 to his score. The remainder of the Victorian wickets then soon fell. Noble's innings was one of the most attractive ever played. It occupied 116 minutes, tbe batsman's strokes all round the wicket being hard and crisp, with no mistakes. The score included fifteen fours and two fives. Victoria closed its first innings for 345 (Giller 125, McLeod 22). Howell took one wicket for 45, Cotter five for S3. In the second innings two wickets are down, for 33 (McLeod notout 13). New South Wales second inning?, 255 (Duft26, Kelly 22, Noble 112, Hopkins 30). Collins took three wicketa for 57, Armstrong four for 57, AVurce two for 50. The Australian team leave by the Manuka to morrow, her departure being delayed till 6 p.m.

A rmetingr of the Ashburton Crick«t Club was huld Ja?t evening. Present —Messrs W. Gr. Eoberts (m the Chair), F. liobilliarri, L. F. Andrews, H. A. Flower, and J. P. Christian. Letters were t received frmn the Secretary of the Timaru Club asking th vt matches be arranged to be played at Timaru on Feb. 9 and 23. It was decided that the matter of arranging a team, if either of the matches can be played, bo left m tho hands of Mr P. L. Orr. Mr S. t\ Choat wrote resigning his position as secretary, the resignation bo'mg accepted. Other business transacted was of a purely routine natura. The cricket match arranged for laßt Thursday between teams representing the Willowby and Ashburton Clubs, which was postponed owing to the unfavourable weather, will be played to-morrow on the Domain oval. The following team will represent the Ashburton Club :—Messrs J. Brown, L. W. Blunden, J. W. Andrews, Harper, Nicoll (2), P. L. Orr, F. Pritchard, W. G. Koberts, F. Robilliard, D. T. Todd. Emergencies—L. F. Andrews, H. A. Flower Play will commence at 2.15 sharp.
