The Commissioner of Police (Mr Dinnie), Inspector Ellison, and Mr M. Myers (Crown Prosecutor) left for Wairarapa yesterday afternoon ou a visit of inspection to the scene of the Te Awaite tragedy. The police are now collecting evidence and witnesses. There will ha tares witnesses from Te Awaite station, namely Messrs O. A. Buuny, Hurly, and Grant. Other witnesses an* Messrs O'Donoghue (who is working on the Orongorongo station), Jackson (who owned the .303 rifle.) Boss (the sailor who wa<* Colinson's companion at the time of the tragedy, and who now is being employed as a bricklayer's labourer in Wellington by the Government, " Kaffir " Dick' and Mitohell.
