Rain fell steadily during the morning and at one time it nppeared as if the Lawn Tennis Championship Tournament might be seriously interfered with, but the clouds lifted about midday and the re3t of (he day was bright and fine, though a trifle cold. Play was started at 11 and pu3hed forward bo well that there should be no difficulty in concluding to-morrow. In the Championships all but the Combined Doubles are down to finals. In the Men's Second Grade Handicap Singles, Styohe and A. Friedlander meet in the final. In the First Grade conditions are mixed by the scratching of some competitors. Brown and Bauchop are in the fourth round with the second round incomplete. Jn the I adies' Handicap Singles Miss Van Stavern has to meet in the final either Mrs Baliantyne or Miss Nicholson, In the Men's Handicap Doubles, Eecond and thira rounds are incomplete. The Combined Handicap doubles are most backward of all. In the Men's Championship Singles, semi-final, H. A. Patker beat R. Lycett 3-6, G-2,0-3,6-3; A. Borrows beat Dr Marshall 6-4, 3-0, 6-4, 7-5. In the Ladies' Championship Singles, second round, Miss F. Cainptell beat Miss G. Bauchop, 6-0,7-1. In the semi-final Miss Nunneley beat Miss Jamieson 6-0, 6-2 j Miss Campbell beat Miss Nicholson 6-1, 16.
