Sumner v. Ashburton.

A most interesting and enjoyable cricket match was played on the Domain Oval yesterday between teams representing the Sumner and Ashburton Clubs. The visitors, who have formerly tried conclusions with the local club, arrived by the 11.45 express, and being met by Mr W. J. Roberts, captain of the Ashburton Club, proceeded to the Domain, where they were entertained at lunrtaeon in the pavilion— Mesdames Roberts and Christian providing the eatables.
