The Weather in Sydney. The weather ia very hot for the holi days. Fire on a Steamer. Perth, Dec 26 A fire occurred on the Aberdeen liner " Sophocles," bound from Sydney to London, and was only extinguished after the VBSsel had been flooded. Eight thousand carcases of mutton and 2500 cases of butter were rendered absolutely useless. The damage is estimated at ,£20,000. A Yacht Founders, During a heavy gale, the yacht " Thißtle" foundered off Manchurat. Captain Jones and one seaman were drowned.
