Is4d Sparrowbills ... Is 3d Duns Is 2d to Is 3d Danish Is 2d to Is 3d Oatsheaf Chaff—42s 6J. The above are prices current paid to farmers on trucks at Ashburton. Following is the Grain Report for week ending 26th February, 190* :—

Wheat.—The market has reached almost an excited condition during the week and prices have gradually risen. An increase for the week is reported of, at least, 1| i to 2d a bushel, and market closes firm at quotations. Millers are active buyers and farmers seem more inclined now to dispose of their crop and in some cases have been over anxious to thresh out before the wheat is in proper condition. The bnlk of the grain offering, however, is turning out in splendid order and no fault whatever can be found with it. Offerings are sill scarce and unequal to the demand of millers for im mediate use. Quotations are: —Tuscan and Pearl 3s Id; Hunters 3s, on trucks for immediate delivery, extra pri_9 quality.

Oats. —Owing to scarcity of offerings prices have advanced slightly and sales have been reported of Duns and Danish ab from Is 2d to Is 2Jd on trucks, at which prices there are more buyers than Fellers. Milling oats are required at Is4d on trucks, while short feed meefc with ready sale at Is 3d to Is Bid on trucks.

Barley.—No further sales have been reported, the quantity of grain in this district being very 3iraited. Several farmers have been delivering during the week lines which we reported as sold in our last. The quality is turning out satisfactory. Quotations remain firm at 2a 9d to 2s lOd on trucks.
