Rakaia Swimming Club.
The Rakaia Amateur Swimming Club, under N.Z.A.S.A. rules, has made final arrangements for the sports and races at tho Domain pond on Thursday, March 17tb. The officials are as follows:—Patron—Mr L. Sturgiss ; Judges—Messrs Oxley, Uardy and Bishop; Referee—Mr James Thompson ; Result Steward —Mr Craighead; Clerk of Course—Mr A. RouutreoStarter and Costuma Steward—J. R. Buc; hanan; Check .Starter — Geo. Hardy; Marksmen —L. Sheriffr, H. Kennedy, J. H. White, C. Shannon, £A. Haslett, and H. A. Piilmer; Hon. Sec. ami Treasurer —L. Cordner; Assistant Secretary—J. C. ThompsoD.
The following are the events: 25Yds Handicap, boys under lGyrs; 25Yds Dash Handicap, Club; 50Yds Egg and Spoon, Club; 50Yds Handicap, bvys under ISyrs; 50Yds Handicap, Lady's Bracelet, InterClub ; 50Yds Handicap, Club; 25Yds Handicap, Rakaia school boys ; SOYds Obstacle Race, Inter-Club ,■ Neatest Header, InterClub; Novel Race, Intor-Club (DrChesson's prize); Relay Race Handicap, about 100 yds, tour men per team, Inter Club; sOYds Handicap, breast stroke, Club; 25Yds Handicap, boys under 12yrs. Entries close with the Club's Secretary on the 11th March, and Inter Club only on March 12th, with Mr Johnson, Zetland Hotel, Christchurch. Arrangements have been made for a supply of refreshments. There will be no charge for admission to the grounds, but a collection will be taken up during the afternoon. From the number of promises made, the entries should be good, and there is every promise of a good afternoon's sport.
