In the afternoon an examination was held »in Lloyd Lindsay drill, in which the company comported themselves with much credit. « ] Personal —.Mr Laurence Johnstone, who has spent several years in reform work in New Zealand, has just made arrangements with Mr J. M. Burgess for the sale of Mr M. Flurscheim's latest work entitled the " Clue to the Economic Labyrinch." Mr Johnstone left for the south to day. The Land Meeting.—Mr T. E. Taylor> M.H.E., writing to Mr W. Harding, pro' vincial secretary of tha North Canterbury Executive of the Farmers' Union, says:— " My business arrangements render it impossible for me to leave Christchurch before the end of March. I shall have muoh pleasure in speaking on the land question in Ashburton about the end of March or early in April."
