London, Feb. 25 Russian accounts Btafce that on the night of the 23rd the Japanese attempted to send four steamers filled with explosives under escort of torpedo boats into Port Arthur harbour, in order to set fire to the Russian warships. The Retvisan, assisted by the coast batteries, sank two steamers, and caused two to run ashore, and also sank two torpedo boats. The Russians were unhurt.
