Melbourne, Oct 1. In the Federal House, Mr Cook (SewSouth Wales) suggested that Wr Deakin should cable a protest to the Imperial authorities against the Balkan atrocities. Mr Deakin said he was perfectly sure Australia unanimously sympathised with a desire that these tragedies should speedily he ended. He hesitated, however, to cable an expression of sympathy in case it might be tiken as an indication that the people in the Home Country and in Europe were not just as alive as our own to the unhappy condition of things.
