AUSTRALIAN
(Received Jan. 27, 9.6 a m.) A Tilt at Germany. Sydney, Jan. 27 Speaking at the regatta luncheon yesterday, the State Treasurer had a tilt at Germany. He said that while Germans were loud m ridiculing Britain's inability to speedily terminate the Boer war, the attempt of the Germans to take a Venezuelan fort was not a creditable one. They had to make several attempts before they were successful. If the Germans had had the same task to perform as the British, the South African campaign would probably have lasted very much longer.
