THE FEDERAL TARIFF

The censure debate has been ad journed until Tuesday. The Opposition refused to promise to c!o3e it on Wednesday.

There is consternation, in naval circles re the news that the Federal tariff will apply to warships. It ia the opinion that this is an oversight. The Admiral has made representations to the Federal Government;

The steamer Scotia has arrived, after laying the Oocoa-Fremantle section of the Cape cable. A start was made in laying the shore end today.
