The Duke of Cornwall's letter to Sir W Hely Hutchison, bidding farewell to the Cape, says that the Royal visitors were touched and gratified by the warmth and enthusiasm shown; They expressed the hope that peace would soon be restored, and a mutual for : bearance and reconciliation infused into the hearts of the people.
