DEATH OF THE HON JAMES KERR

The Hon James Kerr, who suffered frotn a severe shock of bronohial asthma while on his way to Greymouth on Tuesday last, and was detained at Westport, passed away at the residence of Mrs Hughes, »t 4 2Q this morning. Mrs Kerr and Mr James Kerr (son of deceased) were present at the time death took place, The deceased was tincon* Rclous for several hours before the end came. He was a pioneer of the West Coast, and founder of the Kumara Times part proprietor o! the Grey Argus, and a prominent figure in looal politics, being at various periods, mem' bar and ohairman of tha Weatland Education Board, Greymoath Harbour Baard, and a member of the Borough Oouaoii. Tbe body will be" taken to Greymouth this morning.
