Fatal Accident.
United Press Association—By Eleotrlo Telegraph—Copyright Dunedin, AugUßt 25 Hugh MeDiarmid, nineteen years of age, /was killed in Gaorge Street on Saturday evening. It has become a practice with hundreds of people on Saturday nights to walk on the roadway instead of on the pavement. MoDiarmid and a friend were doing this, when a tramcar going down the hill past the Octagon came along. The driver gave a warning whistle, and the friend stepped off the rails, but, for some unknown reason, McDiarmid did not» He was struck by one of the horses, and one of the wheels went over his ahead, crushing it.
