Sib, —With referenoo to the local whioh appeared in the Mail on the 20&h iast., and the Guardian on 21st inst., in which you quote the Premier's remarks concerning tho liability ot farmers under the Workers' Compensation Aot, 1900, we may inform you that several of our farming clients have referred the matter to their solicitors, and without exception have been advised to insure themselves against the risk. The wording of the Aot h so ambiguous that) it is impossible to say whether farm labourers are exempted or not, but the general opinion amongst the solicitors is thab they are not exempted.
