THE BUBONIC PLAGUE.

The Union Company's wharves and sheds are being saturated with disinfectants and washed with hot lime, while the approaches are being cleared.

The boy Strathford and a nurse have been removed into quarantine.

Alarming developments of the plague are just reported. A child named Dovey was admitted to the Sydney Hospital on Tuesday, from Red fern, and to night his disease is declared to be plagae. Both the children reported are attacked in a severe form.

A man named King, residing at Red fern is also declared to have the plague. Every precaution is being taken.

The Board of Health has been informed that ten thousand doses of Hoffkine's plague prophlaotic is on the way from Bombay to Sydney. Brisbane, March 8

The Government Bacteriologist has discovered the plague bacillus in a number of rats submitted to Lira for examination. Hia investigations $re not completed. A. few dead rats have been found on the wharves.
