There are imitations of Eucalypti Extract in the market, products of simple distillation forming crude resinous oils. In order that these crude oils may not be taken, OUR PURE VOLATILE EUOALYPT EXTRACT, which is recognised by the i medical division of the Prussian Government to be of perfectly pure origin, as per information forwarded to us through the Consul at Melbourne, March 52, 1878, we bate :-— It is proved by tests by the Medical Client of the Universities at Bonn and Greifswald Prussia, and reported by Dr. Sohulz, Professor of Parniacology, at Bon. and Professor Dre Mossier, Director »f the Medical Clinics as Greifswald, that only produebs that aro saturated with oxygen a.id freed of aside resinous and other substances, adherent b primary distillation, will develope th sanative qualities proper to the plan All crude oils, or so called Eucalypti Extract are to be classed according bo the named authorities, among the turpenoiaee, whiah are abandoned long since as an internal medicament.. These crude oils, or so called Eucalypti Extracts, are discernible :— 1 By their deficiency in pungent odour— which our product, the only genuine Eucalypti Extract develops most freely through its surplus oxygen. 2 By their alcoholic thin and mobile appearance being reduced in specific denßity through tuo presence of acids. 3JBy their baste, the result of the contracting tendency of resins and tennates. if bhese crude oils, so-c led eucalypti extracts, are applied by mista .c in cases of oronp, bronchitis, diphtheria, internal inflamations, dysentery, etc., the consequences are moat appalling.
