FITZGERALD'S CIRCUS
TO THB EDITOR.
Sib,—This circus is again advertised to appear in Ashburton on Saturday evening, 10th mat, for one night only. The management are heralding their coming •by sensational bills. (Query)— Will each and every act portrayed on the bills be performed in the one night performance in Aehburton, or ia it chief!/ for speculative purposes, calculated to excise the imagination of the public with ft view to filling the coffers of those interested? In thoir endeavour to attract, they have omitted one thing of vital importance to Ihe general public, namely, the charge for admission. If this is unintentional I would recommend them to [ rectify it at once, because, if I am nob mistaken, on their former visit they did tha same. People came from the surrounding districts expecting the usual charge and were disgusted to hear the lowest charge was 3b for each adult. This, I contend, is a prohibitive charge, I presume the management do not go to the expense of landing and erecting all their pharaphnaliaat Ashburton, and I consider that 4s, 2s 6d and Is, is a fair charge. This, I beljeve, wonld suit all classes and make the circus more popular. By inserting this letter in your early issues you will oblige a large number of subscribers, —lam, etc., Risibbnt. I
