LETTER FROM SERGEANT-MAJOR CARDALE. The following extracts from a letter from Sergeant-M»jor Cardale, dated Slingersfontein, January '22nd appear in the Press :— " L%nt Saturday Dight we were all turned out ab 11 30 to repulse an attack about four t miles from here.
