Allen, for some years a well-known commissionaire »t Smith and Caughey's Bhop, leaves for Wellington, and proceeds to the Transvaal »s orderly to Major Cradock. Allen served under Major Ciadock'a father through the Crimean war m a orack Lancer regiment.
