THE WHITS
Wellington, November 22 The writs for the general election were issued to-day, and the usual lists of polling places have been gsz tted. Nominations are due on November 29, and polling day appears to be fixed for Wednesday, December 6, as the Wellington returning officer so advertised tt to-night. This is the first, official intimation that the date had actually been decided. For the Maori elections, nomination day is December 2 and the polling day December 19, the writs being returnable by January 11. Mr George Fisher announces his candidature for Wellington. This brings the list up to ten. Mr Coleman Phillips, independent, addressed a meeting at Oarterton last nighb, of which rowdyism was the prevalent feature. He received a vote of thanks.
