Mrs Alfred Saunders.
Mrs Sannders, the wife of Mr Alfred Saunders, died ab West Melton on Thursday. The deceased lady was born /in Reading m 1828, and emigrated with her parents to Nelson m 1844. She married a year later, and shortly afterwards accompanied her husband to Australia, where they made the overland trip between Sydney and Adelaide together, Mrs Saundcra being the first white woman to accomplish the journey. Mr and Mrs Saundera subsequently returned to Nelson, where they resided for many years before leaving on a prolonged visib to England. Jn 1872 they came back to the colony, and settled m Q^nterbury. Mrs Saundera had been m feeble health for some months, and her end was not unexpected by her relatives. The funeral will leave for the Wesb Melton cemetery at two oolook on Saturday afternoon,
