The Coal Trade.
Sydney, April 26 There is a strong demand m Newcastle for tonnage to Eastern ports, bub the freights asked are too high to admit of much business. Daring the last three months over 30,000 tons of coal have been despatohed to Manila, evidently m anticipation of trouble. A Disabled Barque. The Royal Tar, which left Newoaatle on Saturday for Auckland, has pat into Sydney for repairs. The vessel is making water, and the pumps are choked. L Tlie Tick Pest. Brisbane, April 26 There is some consternation m the cattle trade by the discovery of ticks on cattle m the Brisbane slaughter-yards.
