ST. MARK'S CHURCH, RAKAIA.
At the invitation of the vioar and Mrs Holland, a very pleasant evening wm spent in St. Mark's Sunday school, on Friday last, to mark the opening of the new sohool. For some five years past the ladies of the parish have worked very hard and held annual garden parties to raise money for building the school, and it is gratifying to record that their efforts have bean successful. The Bishop of Christchurch was present : and gave a most instructive address on the religious education of tbe young, and the necessity of careful home training. Several musioal'teleetiem . were nioely given by tbe members of the church choir, assisted by Mr Boulnois, whose (comic songs gave great amusement. Mrs Fox, of Ashburton, very kindly played the accompaniments fn her usual tfficieal manner,
