TIMARU WOOL SALES.
I Messrs Friedlander Bros., Limited, repor'. that the first of this .euson's series of woo. sales at limaru was held yesterday, whei. catalogues amounting to about 5000 balewere submitted by the various brokers. The attendance of buyers was about th. same as at the Christchurcti sales. Prices were a shade lower than those realised at Christchurch. Bright fine light wools were competed for with some spirit, 7d to l_d being top p.ice ; but Bcouring wools, which c.mpri.ed the major part of the catalogues, were neglected ; and sales ranged from s£d to 6£d for halfbred crossbreds, and 6d to 6fd for halfbred. Only a very small proportion of merinos was on offer (but nothing ol special quality) which met with fair competition.
