Washed Off the Rocks. Sydney, September 9 , Two brothers named Denniston, while fishing at Botany, were washed off the rocks and drowned. An Interesting Exhibition. Adelaide, September 9. At a meeting of the Royal Society the complete gigantic fore and hind feet of the diprotodon were exhibited for the first time in Australia, and probably in the world. The bones were found lately at Lake Callabonna. Extensive Defalcations, Perth, September 9 Bertoli pleaded guilty to embezzling Post Office moneys at Coolgardie and forging a Bank certificate, and waß sentenced to seven years on each charge, the sentences to be concurrent. His defalcations total over £6000.
