Parliamentary Notes.
(FROM OUK OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Wellington, August 11. BILL. The Electoral Bill has been read the third time and will be sent to the Legislative Council for the first reading on Tuesday. Eden, at the instance of the Hon E. Mitch el son, who represents it, was struck out of the schedule of the Bill which defines that the hoar of polling in certain electorates shall be extended to seven o'clock. When the third reading was put the leader of the Opposition expressed the opinion chat the Bill had been carried through in a slovenly condition and it was going up to the Legislative Council in a slovenly manner. Mr Fish having had a parting shot at woman's suffrage, Sir R. Stout safd that after the representatives of the people had fchrice expressed themselves favorably to Female Franchise, it would be entirely wrong and unconstitutional for the Council to refuse to concede it. Sir John Hall fol* loved to the same effect. He said that he had never spoken disrespectfully or in an unfriendly manner concerning members of the Legislative Council, and he hoped that they would not now do 6Uch an unconstitutional act as to refuse to concede women's (suffrage. sypp horses. The Minister for L^nds has promised to consider the question of imposing a tax on stud horses. BOILING STOCK.
