Messrs Miles and Co., Limited (Mr E. W. As usual at this time of the year the attendance was somewhat lessened. Business was not satisfactory, eioepting for a few lines of young Ih'^p which met 'wfth faip tra&e promoted by outside competition. About twelve pens constituted the entry in the butchers' yarding, crossbred wethers realising up to 15a, «nd for a pen of merinos we obtained 11s 3d. j Th« quality of other entries was decidedly plain, merino wethers changing hands at 4s to 6s. Good crossbred ewes in lamb sold in pliyem' favor at l§s 8d for young sheep, |[>wri to I^3 fpr old sorjis, o>er}nog from 4s to ys 34. -The first en^ri§s pf th.c season of ewes with lambs at foot were made, but had not much enquiry. Hoggets told from 7» §d!uptol23. Of our entry of 486 sheep, W§ sold 14 merino wethera at 1 Is 3d, 63 fourteoth crossbred wethers at 14s lid, 30 iherino wethers at 6s 6d, 11 merino ewes at 7s 3d, 38 merino ewes at 7s 2d, 76 merino Withers at 4s. We have several lines of good merino ewes in lamb for' disposal by ?||t« treaty,

f We held a clearing. sale on Wednesday ' last at Tinwald on behalf of MU Kedmayne, Esq , when there was a good attendance or the public. The auction was held on account of the owner having disposed of a P<>««>n of } his Grove Park faun, and during the day a very satisfactory clearance of horses, implements, and farm requirements or ai. descriptions was made, draught hones selling up to £16 and £20, yelling cattle in backward condition 245. In sympathy with the present apathy shown at sheep markets, the entry of over 1000 sheep, moi ly young and good sorts met with only slack competition, crossbred wethers for finishing realising 12s Bd, old merino ewes up to 43 4d.
