The Australian cricketers have been invited to fill up the vacanc dates by pixying at Dublin, Edinburgh, and against several minor counties - (Received July 25, 11.10 a.m.) < Losdon, July 24. J The match between tha Australians and Middlesex eleven began at Lord's today. The county team comprised Lucas, Cornish. Westhorp, West, Phillips, Ford, Riwle, J. Hearne, O'Brien, Douglas, and Scott. W. G iff en, Jar vis and Coninghaui stand out of the Colonial team. Stoddart, having injured his leg, was unable to take part m the match. The Australians m their first innings scored 147 runs. Blackham 42, and Trumble, not out 61, were the highest scorers. Lyons, Giffen Bannerman, and Gregory were all dismissed without scoring, and the first five wickets fell with only 26 runs on the sheet. Hearne's bowling was almost unplayable, and he took three wickets for five runs. Middlesex were all disposed of for 78 runs m the firnt innings.
