Ashburton Football Club.
A general meeting of the Aahburfcon Football Club was held or Saturday evening in Arcade Chambers, when about thirty members of the club were present, Mr P. H. Cox in the chair. The secretary explained that the business of the meeting would be to consider aome revisions of the rules, which had been proposed at / the last general meeting. Mr Cox reported that at the requpst of the committee he had embodied these revisions in a new draft of rules which were read, adopted, and ordered to be printed. The meeting then proceeded to the election of captains which resulted as follows:—First fifteen—Mr Cow, captain ; Mr J. Wilson, vice-captain. Second fifteen—Mr H. Speight, captain, Mr Healy was elected to fill a eacancy on the committee and Messrs Cox and Fooks with the captains were elected a selection committee. It iras decided to get th* use of dri'l shed if possible, for the purpose of train* ing during the winter months. At a committee meeting held subsequently it was decided to accept the challenge of Christ's College to play a second fifteen on Wednesday, May 3.
