The captain's wife rowed with the others. LIBEL ACTION. Colonel Hughes Hallett declined to give evidence in the libel action which he had brought against the " Weekly Times," his excuse being that he desired to spare the feelings of the girl to whom he had refunded the sum of £5000. Defendants asserted that he was afraid to go into the box, also that the girl was honorably married, and that plaintiff was unwilling to re-open the sore. A verdict was entered up for defendants.
