Mr Bowler was elected Chairman. The late Chairman of Committee stated that the balance sheet could not be read owing to its being in the hands of the auditor. The election of the Committee was then proceeded with, there being twelve nominations Mr Frederick Hyde* objected to oneof the Messrs Buckley beingallowed to vote. The Chairman asked Mr A. Buckley, senior, if he were owner of the house for which he claimed the right to vote,, and Mr Buckley replied that he was equal owner with his son. The Chairman then \ asked the same question d Mr A. j Buckley, junior, and received the answer that he was equal owner with his father. The Chairman said that according to the Act he considered that each had a right to vote and accordingly permitted them to do so. . A. ballot was than taken, Messrs Bowler, Haase, and Corbett being appointed scrutineers, and the following votes were recorded : —Samuel Knox 11, John Knox 11, Henry Hunt 11, Edward Healey 10, James Oiiver 10, P. M. EL Haase 10, Archibald Clark 9, George Nicholas 9, Frederick flydes 8, Edwin Church 8, James Corbefet 8, William Tait 6. A ballot was taken between Messrs Nicholas and Clark, who had tied. Clark polled 14 and Nicholas 4. TheChairmm then declared the seven highest on the list to be duly elected. A vote of thanks to the Chairman closed the meeting. After the annual meeting a meeting of the nswly elected Committee was held at which Mr James Oliver was elected Chairman for the ensuing year.
