ASHBURTON V GERALDINE.
The return match between the Ashburton and Geraldine Clubs was played at the Ashburton Domain to-day. The visitors batted first but only Fish and Kalanger made any stand and the total for the innings was only 71. Todd secured all ten wickets for 32 runs. Ashburton began very badly, seven wickets being down for 27, when E. Price joined Denshire. The former hit vigorously while the latter played his usual sound game, and they took the score to 51 before being separated. The innings did not last much longer, the total being 58—thirteen to the bad. At a few minutes past three Geraldine commenced their second innings.
